3 Minute Read:

One of the most noticeable signs of aging is wrinkles and loss of volume in the face. There are several surgical and non-surgical treatments available to address these issues. The Hochstein Medspa offers a series of injectable treatments to help reduce the appearance of aging. Dr. Hochstein also offers surgical solutions to those who prefer them.

What Is a Liquid Facelift?

Facial rejuvenation has come to mean any procedure that is designed to change the appearance of the face. In the past, these techniques were purely surgical (with a facelift), but today, there are non-surgical options with nearly comparable levels of effectiveness.

While results of a surgical treatment last longer and provide deeper correction, an injectable treatment offers a faster treatment with shorter recovery times and sooner showing results. Therefore, they fill a niche for patients who want facial rejuvenation but are unwilling to go under the knife of a surgeon.

There are many types of injectable treatments out there, and each brand can be performed alone to restore a more youthful appearance; however, they can also be combined for more complete and balanced enhancement. When injectable treatments are combined, it is often referred to as a liquid facelift.

What Can Be Included in My Liquid Facelift?

Your non-surgical facelift can include two or more of the following injectables.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators reduce wrinkles by temporarily inhibiting muscle movement that causes wrinkles to form around the eyes and mouth. This allows the skin to smooth without expression-causing wrinkles forming. These products, such as XEOMIN®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau™, do not add volume to the face, nor do they adjust the size or shape of the underlying muscle. Still, for those whose primary concern is dynamic wrinkles in the face, neuromodulators are an ideal treatment. Neuromodulators typically last three to four months and can be repeated as necessary.

Restylane® Suite of Injectables

Restylane® products are injectable fillers designed to add volume and reduce wrinkles around the eyes, cheeks, and mouth. It addresses aging by filling in wrinkles and sunken areas with additional volume that appears to restore youth to the treated areas. The results of Restylane® treatments can last up to 18 months.

What Injectables Can Be Included in a Liquid Facelift?

Your liquid facelift can include any combination of the following:

  • Dysport®
  • XEOMIN®
  • Jeuveau™
  • Restylane®
  • Restylane-L®
  • Restylane® Silk
  • Restylane® Refyne™
  • Restylane® Defyne™
  • Restylane® Lyft™
  • RADIESSE®

How Does a Surgical Facelift Differ?

A traditional facelift does more than reduce wrinkles. It adjusts the position of the muscles and secures them to reduce sagging in the future. It also tightens the skin over the new muscles to create a more youthful appearance. A facelift is the only option that creates permanent (or nearly permanent) results. A facelift does not stop the natural aging process. On the other hand, a facelift is more expensive, has a higher risk of complications, and takes longer to recover from.

For people looking to reclaim the appearance of youth, non-surgical or surgical facial rejuvenation is a good option. Various options are available depending on the specific results you seek. Non-surgical options are ideal for patients looking to address specific issues temporarily. For those looking for results that last longer than a year or two, a surgical facelift may be more effective.
