Fat Transfer

The Brazilian Butt Lift, also known as the BBL procedure for short, is one of the most versatile treatments available, helping to improve the areas of your body that struggle with poor volume and projection. Harvesting fat from areas of the body it’s unwanted and grafting it in another location can be a safe and effective method to achieve the body contour you desire in the buttocks area. Fat transfer can:

Enhance the size of the buttocks Fill wrinkles and creases
Provide more projection and fullness to the buttocks Contour the body

Fat Transfer FAQ

  • Q: Why should I choose Brazilian Butt Lift over implants?

A: Buttock augmentation with implants is often paired with liposuction to provide additional sculpting for improved body contours overall. The Brazilian Butt Lift similarly uses two procedures—liposuction and fat injections—but is generally less invasive than implant surgery. The invasiveness of BBL depends on how much fat the patient is removing and transferring to the buttocks. One procedure is not better than the other; rather, one procedure may be better suited for a particular patient than another. However, it is also known that buttock implants for buttock augmentation has a higher risk for infection, so the BBL procedure is generally a much safer procedure.

  • Q: How long will my results last?

A: Fat transfer is preferred over other alternatives because it provides long-lasting results. After six months, any fat that remains is permanent.

  • Q: How should I prepare for my procedure?

A: You should quit smoking and stop taking medication that thins the blood (e.g., aspirin) for two to three weeks before your surgery to improve circulation, promote better healing, and reduce bleeding issues. You should also drink a lot of water to hydrate your body in the days leading up to surgery and get plenty of sleep the night before your surgery. Plan to have a friend or family member help you for the first few days following your procedure. Private duty nursing is also an excellent option.
