Which Is Better: VelaShape® III or CoolSculpting®?

3 Minute Read:

Today, many cosmetic procedures can remove accumulating fat in unwanted areas and tighten the contours. Some of these procedures are surgical, making the downtime long and the recovery somewhat tricky. Luckily, there are alternatives for anyone looking to trim their physique without surgery.

VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting® both non-invasive, body contouring procedures that provide noticeably slimmer physiques.

What Are the Similarities Between VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting®?

VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting® are both revolutionary non-surgical treatments that contour the body without downtime, discomfort, or scarring of surgery.

With these procedures, you can say goodbye to some of your body insecurities as you relax comfortably in the treatment chair.

What Are the Differences Between VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting®?

Although they may provide similar firmness in particular treatment areas, VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting® use two entirely different technologies to achieve two distinct results.

VelaShape® III uses a combination of infrared light and radiofrequency to reduce or eliminate the appearance of cellulite and to enhance skin tone. While this procedure does not physically remove fat cells from the body, the reduction and tightening of the cellulite and skin do provide for a noticeable slimming effect.

CoolSculpting®, on the other hand, does eliminate unwanted fat in a more traditional sense. The CoolSculpting® device administers bursts of extremely cold temperatures to freeze unwanted fat cells in the target area without harming the surrounding tissues. These “frozen” cells eventually die and are naturally processed from the body.

How Is VelaShape® III Performed?

VelaShape® III administers infrared light and radiofrequency to heat the fat cells below the surface of the skin. VelaShape® III is a vacuum device that uses suctioning motion to heat the skin and dislodge the underlying cellulite. This procedure can take between 20 minutes to two hours, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Areas of Treatment:

  • Arms
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Flank
  • Abdomen

How Is CoolSculpting®Performed?

Unlike other body contouring techniques, CoolSculpting® is a relatively gentle procedure that simply requires the placement of the CoolSculpting® applicator on the treatment surface. Patients can relax during their treatment by reading a book, scrolling through their Instagram feeds, checking their email, or listening to music. The procedure can help patients eliminate up to 25 percent of unwanted fat in the treatment area.

  • Thighs
  • Double chin

The Results of VelaShape® III Vs. CoolSculpting®

Both VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting® contour the body. VelaShape® III is not known for eliminating unwanted fat, but it can reduce cellulite and smooth the skin. CoolSculpting® focuses on removing the fat cells, and once the fat cells are gone, they are gone for good.

How Do I Know Which Procedure Is Best for Me?

Patients can achieve desirable results with both the VelaShape® III and CoolSculpting®. The procedure that is right for you will come down to what you are trying to target. Is it that stubborn pocket of fat on your lower abdomen that resulted from pregnancy? Or is it that unwanted pocket of orange-peel skin that sticks out beneath your favorite pair of shorts?

The specialists at the Hochstein MedSpa will help guide you to the correct non-surgical body contouring procedure for you.
