Vampire Facial ( Eclipse Micropen)
THE NEWEST ADVANCEMENT IN SKINCARE NEEDS!
A Hollywood hit procedure with A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian now offered at the office!
Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles. Eclipse Micropen™ also creates superficial micro-channels which allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.
Patient may experience redness for a couple days following the procedure. Patients should avoid the sun and wear SPF (SPF50 or higher) at all times. It is highly recommended for patients who do this procedure to purchase the Neocutis Bio Cream which is a post procedure cream that helps with the healing and recovery process.
When used to infuse PRP (platelet rich plasma), MicroPen™ enhances the outcome, increases total collagen production and accelerates healing. This procedure has been widely known as the “blood facial or vampire facial.” Our Physician’s Assistant uses the Micropen to microneedle the skin ( injure the tissue) then apply PRP topically to the skin to help it heal and stimulate collagen production. A “blood facial” or “vampire facial” is a cosmetic procedure during which a doctor draws a couple vials of blood from your arm, centrifuges the blood to separate out the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells, and then adds the platelet-rich plasma back into your face. This process separates the blood into its different components. The plasma portion that contains platelets is drawn into a syringe and injected back into your face. Platelets are cells involved in forming clots to stop bleeding after injury, but they also contain growth factors and proteins that are known to assist in healing. These growth factors are released after the platelets are injected into the face and are the presumed entities that induce the purported rejuvenation effects. No incisions are required and only topical anesthesia is required!
