Miami Florida Tummy Tuck and Liposuction Experience

Written By: Leonard M. Hochstein, M.D., P.A. Miami Florida, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Here in Miami Florida, Dr. Hochstein performs multiple abdominoplasty or tummy tuck procedures with liposuction of the hip iliac crest rolls every week. In order to create a beautiful midriff or midsection with patients presenting with excess skin and fat as well as stretching of the abdominal muscles it becomes useful to undergo the abdominoplasty or tummy tuck procedure here in Miami Florida.

Liposuction of the hips is usually required in order to narrow the midsection and to allow for a more streamlined appearance. Patients do well with plication of the midline rectus sheath or tightening of the midline muscles, which gives a flatter appearance of the stomach.

When large abdominoplasties or panniculectomies are performed with a massive amount of skin and fat removed the muscles of the midline are not tightened as greatly. However, liposuctioning of the hips or iliac crest rolls is extremely important in order to narrow the midsection of the middle third of the female figure.

Liposuctioning is usually quite safe when performed concurrently with an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck procedure here in Miami Florida in our practice. Liposuctioning of the upper abdominal and mid epigastric region above the umbillious can be quite dangerous and we do not perform it at the original surgery of the abdominoplasty in order to prevent blood supply problems of the flap of tissue being brought down inferiorly.

When considering abdominoplasty or tummy tuck procedures and liposuctioning of the hips, it is very important to find a Qualified Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, who has successfully completed the prerequisites and knowledge and have the experience to perform this operation safely. There are no substitutes. Some doctors are using false Boards so it is important that you do your home work before you make any decisions. Start by going to www.flhealthsource.com .
